Addie Marler

Addie Marler, MA
Professional Counselor Associate

Welcome! I want to take a moment to honor your first steps in your mental health journey. I know that finding a counselor that meets you where you’re at can be an exhausting and at times frustrating experience. It’s so nice to meet you, I’m Addie (She/her) and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Oregon.

When connecting with clients, I hope to curate a genuine relationship built on trust and care. My approach to counseling is client centered and holistic in nature— meaning I prioritize meeting you where you’re at with considerations for your entire being. These considerations include how our various cultures and lived experiences have impacted us throughout our lives. I am dedicated to an anti-oppressive framework which seeks to decolonize my practice and ensure all humans of all backgrounds are safe to express themselves freely. Fundamentally, I consider you to be the expert of your own experience and I am truly honored to walk alongside your life path with you. I welcome all individuals of various intersectional identities into my practice.

My frame of practice is one which centers the body and our nervous system as integral parts of our mental health. Through finding safety within our bodies, we can more deeply understand how our relational experiences have shaped us and find a path to regulation, resilience, and self compassion. I understand that our bodies perceive trauma more broadly than we may expect, and believe many people can benefit from this lens of practice.

My specialization of practice includes working with women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and survivors of domestic violence or other relational traumas. In addition, I support those processing grief, pregnancy, parenting challenges, burnout, depression, and anxiety. I use an eclectic range of modalities to discover which practices may most benefit you; including, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Compassion Focused Therapy. In addition, I love to integrate personal rituals, movement, art, and breath into our work together.

Sometimes we just don’t have the words to articulate our experiences, or we have all the words and no connection to our bodies or emotions— I’m here for it all regardless of where you’re at. Through our work together, we can create a space where you reconnect with your authentic sense of self in a supportive and affirming environment. My highest hope is to help you relight your spark and experience the joys of our world. I am excited to meet you!
